Our thanks to all who attended the Border Terrier Welfare Mid Year Event on Sunday at Woodmansterne in Surrey. It was, as always good to see many friends and to meet some new ones .
Thanks also to Alan Edbrooke of Canine Partners who gave a very interesting and informative talk on the workings of their charity, Alan was accompanied by his own support dog Hamlin, a most magnificent and just so “Cool” Golden Retriever. Alan & Hamlin also judged our afternoon fun classes and I am certain that the Borders were behaving even better than usual under Hamlin’s quiet supervision. Class winners were; Class 1, Monica’s Tiggy (Prettiest Bitch). Class 2, Vanessa & John’s Leo (Most Handsome Dog). Class 3, Mike & Sue’s Maud (Best Young BT under three years). Class 4, Steve & Brenda’s Corby (Best Veteran over ten years). Class 5, Poppy (The Dog with the Waggiest Tail). Class 6, Vanessa & John’s Leo (Best Trick)
Class 7, Maggi’s boy Henry (Best Rescue BT). All the winners received a trophy as well as a rosette and a there were rosettes for the runners up. Well done to all the winners as well as to Judge Alan and Stewards Melanie and Joyce.

There were two indoor game competitions The first “Guess the age of the puppy” and also “Draw a picture of a Border Terrier whilst wearing a blindfold” There Were two Raffles as well as the BTW Stall where our new Border Terrier Welfare Supporter Badge was on sale. See further details on our page shortly.

To finish off the afternoon refreshments were served with hot & cold drinks and a selection of cakes. In all a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon in good company and lots of lovely BT’s having fun in the sunshine and you helped to raise almost £500 for our charity.

A BIG THANK You to all who supported us on Sunday and at other times and my personal thanks to the officers, committee members and helpers for all their hard work and in some cases for travelling considerable distances to be there.
