As Chairman of Border Terrier Welfare, Tony Wrenn writes a personal message of thanks to all who helped to make the recent #BT100 event a success, read on to hear more.
Chairman's vote of thanks
I write from us all here at BTW to thank everyone who helped to make the recent #BT100 event the enormous success that it was. A huge thank you to Paula Byers and Louise Nowell (who is also producer for the BTPosse concert) for conceiving the idea and for their considerable IT Skills needed in order for the event to take place. It was a learning curve for us all, as it was the first time BTW had undertaken an event of a virtual nature such as this.
A very big thank you to everyone for the extraordinary donations on our JustGiving event page as well as via other means. At the time of writing, the total raised including Gift Aid is an absolutely incredible amount of £2,781.16. This will help us enormously as many of our other fundraising events have been cancelled or postponed. The page is still open if anyone hasn't donated yet, it's not too late.
BTShow - Virtual Border Terrier Show

The Rosettes, donated by an anonymous supporter - thank you whoever you are, and certificates are on their way to the lucky winners.
BTPOP - Pawformances of Pawsitivity
An enormous round of applause to all who took part in the Pawformance of Pawsitivity a very special springtime twitter concert performed by members of the amazing BT Posse. In their usual inimitable style, the #BTPosse rose to the occasion, delivering comedic and often poignant acts which brought this twitter community (and more) together to raise a smile in the current circumstances. Here's Sammie & Pippin to give a snapshot of life in lockdown for The Border Terrierists.
BTQuiz - Virtual Border Terrier Quiz
Our #BTQuiz was supported by several well-known question masters, for which we are hugely grateful to them for offering their support, when many have been, and continue to be, really busy during the Coronavirus period. We would like to thank (in no particular order):
Horace Panter - bassist for the Specials & Artist
Sarah Champion - DJ, Presenter and Actress
Dr Scott Miller - Vet & Presenter on This Morning
Andrew Paterson - Andrew & Betty on the BBC2 show Me & My Dog
Melissa Donald - Vet & RCVS Council Member
Helen Stockton - Freelance Writer and Tutor
Helen Mayne - Feelwells
Michelle Burgess - Scruffy Little Terrier
Thanks also to Feelwells and Scruffy Little Terrier who donated a £20 voucher each and so from the scores received, these have been awarded to:
Feelwells voucher - Anne Sutton
Scruffy Little Terrier voucher - Natasha Cooper
A bonus fundraiser
We also had bonus support in the form of Helen Stockton & Teddy who offered to donate profits from book sales over the #BT100 weekend. The incredible total of £157.95 including Gift Aid is included in the JustGiving total above and we are hugely grateful to Helen & Teddy for supporting our weekend.
Final words of thanks
In closing, I would like to thank the BTW Committee who assisted me with BTShow judging tasks, writing question rounds for the BTQuiz and organising our special BT100 rosettes.
Once again a huge thank you to you all for your continued support and we hope you'll agree that it's been an excellent celebration of 100 years of breed recognition for the Border Terrier in the UK by The Kennel Club, until we can meet up again in person.
