We've had lovely news from Anne Speake who has been able to meet up with friends on the last day of June at Tarn Hows and fundraise for Border Terrier Welfare at the same time.
A beautiful walk on a beautiful day
Tarn Hows is a National Trust property in the Lake District, described as a circular walk that anyone can have a go at, with impressive views in any season. It was certainly the perfect location for a day that dawned with lovely weather (a change from needing galoshes and webbed feet on some rainy British walks!), which meant the get together was much enjoyed by those that attended.
Anne says, "It was a lovely day and so nice to see everyone again, we had 23 people with 17 Border Terriers and 2 other dogs, making 19 dogs in total".
In the image below, Anne is seen on the right with Poppy (15 ½) and Helen with Alf (15), the two oldest Border Terriers on the walk.
A donation thank you
We have received a donation from Anne and friends of £65 + Gift Aid, making £81.25 in total from the day.
"We are truly grateful for the donation, but we are also really pleased to see people able to get together in small groups outdoors to enjoy walking again." says Tony Wrenn, Chairman of Border Terrier Welfare.
From the pictures below, kindly supplied by Anne, it looks like they had a great day!
