We have news of a moving fundraising activity taking place today, as there is a celebration of a life cut short too soon for Mark Harrison, brother of Jackie, from the cruel disease that is Huntingtons.
Border inspiration for fundraising
Their first border terrier, Sybil, was the inspiration for little felt dogs that travel the world under #SybilOnTour across all social media, raising awareness of #HuntingtonsDisease. What a legacy, now continued by their current border, Spike.
Mark was a true lover of Borders from the minute Sybil stole his heart on arrival and Jackie has kindly chosen to raise funds for BTW in his memory. They have long been a much loved part of the #BTPosse community.
A social media celebration
The celebration today, a week after Mark's passing last Saturday, will include two other loves close to his heart, singing & ice cream! Throughout Mark's deteriorating health, they held a Singing Corner every Monday afternoon, sharing on social media an eclectic mix of songs (sung with gusto), including many of Mark's favourites. When his health and sunshine allowed, they had short trips out and always enjoyed ice cream as one of Mark's favourite treats.
So across facebook, twitter and insta, at 3pm UK time today, people will come together to celebrate Mark with one last Singing Corner with an ice cream interval. You can follow along or take part using #IceCreamForMark and donations can be through the link below.
