Border Terrier Welfare Virtual AGM 2021

As the challenging circumstances of the pandemic continue, we have still been unable to meet in person this year at our BTW events.  We are pleased to announce that we are again holding our Annual General Meeting for 2021 in a virtual format.

Announcing our virtual AGM

Our AGM will take place on zoom at 2.30pm on Sunday 10 October 2021.  The formal business of the meeting will be followed by presentations and the chance to chat all things Border Terrier and we will be releasing more details in this blog in due course.

In the meantime, you can book your free virtual seat on our Eventbrite page here, but sorry, you'll need to bring your own afternoon tea!

Details of how to join will be emailed to you in advance of the meeting, along with the Agenda, Minutes and Reports documents required for the AGM

Event schedule (timings approximate):
2.20pm zoom opens with a preview of some of the photos supplied for our 2022 BTW Calendar
2.30pm formal AGM proceedings

3.30pm meeting closes

Presentation

Graphic with image of Vanessa in blue top & jeans with Leo in his bandana sat looking at her hand with a treat with presentation title How to Train Your Dragon . . . errr Border Terrier!

People often talk about how difficult it is to train a Border Terrier but, like many things, it takes time and patience. Their busy, active brains need occupying, so teaching them tricks can help break the monotony for them with the basics of Sit, Stay and Recall. Vanessa presents a fun trick to teach with her fabulous 'assistant' Leo, which will be followed by a Q&A, sharing training tips.

A fundraising Raffle

We have also launched our BTW AGM Raffle which has an amazing top prize worth at least £100 along with many others!  No spoilers here, so head on over to our BTW AGM Raffle blog to check it out.

All funds raised will help us provide support and care to Border Terriers in need, so support us if you can and, who knows, you could be a winner!

Live Draws!

Whilst all the BTW AGM Raffle tickets will be drawn prior to the meeting (with a recording will be available to watch & published on our YouTube channel), we will be making two LIVE draws during our virtual meeting, just to keep you on the edge of your seats!

Overall BTW AGM Raffle winner
Our first draw will be from all our Raffle ticket winners, where a single ticket will be drawn from those selected in the recording to win our overall prize of the Nikki's Nestie medium dog bed worth at least £100.  We'll put you in touch with Nikki after the meeting and you'll be able to select your cover and original or easy access style of your choice.  Check our our lovely Leo modelling his very own Nikki's Nestie below.

Virtual AGM Attendee prize
Our second live draw will be a special one, just for those attending the virtual AGM.  A name from those actually at the meeting will drawn to win our lovely handmade felted storage basket.  This has been made especially for us with an ombre effect of our logo colours and features our Supporter fob attached to the outside.  Perfect for keeping bags of your Border Terrier's favourite treats at hand, or for putting by the door or in the boot of the car to keep the walking essentials together.

As a special treat, the lucky winner can choose to have it personalised, like our 'Toby' example below (don't worry, this hasn't been done on the basket, so it can be sent with or without personalisation).  The felted storage basket measures approximately length 30cm x width 19cm x height 19cm.

However, you need to be at the meeting for a chance to win this lovely prize.  So don't forget to book your place & come to the virtual meeting, as you've got to be in it to win it! (Chairman's decision is final)
