The best update yet
What a week, Bear had his surgery last Monday it was a lot more complex than they initially thought which is probably the case most often, he was showing signs of necrosis and the gallbladder was quite stuck to both liver lobes… it definitely needed to come out when it did or it could have been a very different outcome for my sweet boy!
I went to see him Monday night, it was hard to see him like that, but he was grateful for a cuddle and to see me, he then spent the night in the hospital to be monitored overnight, they were super happy with him and said he would be best at home to recover. I picked him up the next day around lunch time and he was honestly a different dog after just one night.
This last week he has continued to amaze me with how brave he has been, and how quickly he has recovered! Bear has been eating all his food and taking his meds and is just improving each day.
As much as he looked so well I was still worried as he’s (as most borders are) so stoic, but he’s had his one week check up today with the vet and he is as amazed at how well he looks/how well he’s recovered! He said he’s an absolute warrior and a very happy boy… apparently all the nurses have been asking about him as they all fell in love with him when looking after him
He will return in 2 weeks where they will check his bloods to make sure his levels are all ok, but they couldn’t be happier with him.
Thank you all again for your kind words and donations, you all hold a special place in my heart, as without you this wouldn’t have been possible and I can’t even imagine a different outcome.
Bear is the most special boy and I really do try and give him the best life possible, which we can now continue to do and keep you all updated on our adventures.
There are really no words for how amazing the BT Welfare have been, they shared my
story with all you wonderful people in the first place, special thanks to Vanessa Jessop who has been there for Bear and I, before, during and after his surgery and I honesty couldn’t have done this without your support, you truly are an angel on earth
Thank you again
Bear & Lauren xx
