Border Terrier Welfare Help

Request help

If you are in need of help please first contact your closest BTW Rep from the contacts list.

If your need is really urgent and your local rep is not available, then please contact either our Chairman or Vice Chairman.

With the wealth of knowledge about the breed and first hand experience as many of our Reps and Committee are owners and breeders themselves, BTW are able to offer assistance and signposting to specialist help on a range of issues.

This may mean that dogs that are thought to need re-homing are able to stay in their own home where possible.

If this is not possible, they can provide support and assistance through the re-homing process, to ensure a smooth handover that is least stressful for the dog.

Re-homing

If you have a Border Terrier that you are needing to be re-homed, or that you are considering re-homing then as above please contact your closest BTW Rep in the first instance.

We don't host a directory of Border Terriers for re-homing on our website, as we don't generally keep dogs, we usually match dogs at the time they are donated to BTW to our waiting list of adoptees and so they are taken directly to their new home, as this is the least stress for the dog.

Where dogs are not able to go direct to their new home, they may stay with our network of foster carers whilst they have issues resolved or receive veterinary treatment.

Fundraising

As a registered charity, we are wholly dependent on the donations, gifts and fundraising activities by ourselves and others.  We are grateful for amounts raised no matter now large or small, we recognise small donations all add up to larger ones, and together they enable us to do what we do through the generosity of those, like you, who give to Border Terrier Welfare.

There are a variety of ways you can help and some don't even cost you a penny!

Voluntary giving

There are a several ways you can give voluntarily to Border Terrier Welfare, including:

  • Gifts & legacies
  • One off donations eg PayPal
  • Regular donations eg PayPal
  • Birthday & In memoriam collections

Fundraising events

Such as marathons & other sporting events, personal challenges or even a sponsored walk (only limited by your imagination).  You can use platforms such as:

Give as you shop

The best thing about this one is that it doesn't cost you anything extra!  The platforms below collect donations from retailers as you shop online, once you are registered.

BT Community

We have several unofficial groups who are avid supporters of Border Terrier Welfare, with a variety of interesting and varied fundraising activities, some of which are regular events, some challenges only restricted by the imagination of the participants.

Note: none of these groups are in any way affiliated to Border Terrier Welfare.

#BTPosse on Twitter

A community of tweeting Border Terriers, over 1,150 worldwide at the last count, who are enthusiastic fundraisers for BTW, raising many thousands of pounds each year.  Along with creating a supportive online community, there are many tweet-ups where members meet in person around the country.

Sir Clapton Terrier does the admin, receiving regular applications to join - the only criteria being the twitter account must be for the BT.  Also on facebook.

Border Terrier Adventures

A facebook group of over 3,700 members for the sole purpose of enjoying BTs and to have fun.

Huge supporters of BTW in fundraising activities, especially the amazing Paul Duce and Dame Jess Border who have raised many thousands of pounds with their challenges over the years (check out our Fundraising blog category and you'll see their entries pop up!).

Our WebStars

We've had a little help from our friends in supplying the Border Terrier images for our site.
You can check out who they are here in our WebStars gallery of superstars . . .
